Bengt & Lotta – Swedish Design with Character
The brand Bengt & Lotta is the work of Swedish designer couple Bengt Lindberg and Lotta Glave, who met while studying graphic design and illustration together. For Bengt, it all began with a cow motif, which he turned into a cast-iron candle holder – inspired by his childhood on his grandparents' farm in Skåne. Soon, other animal motifs such as sheep, horses and moose followed, all crafted in Bengt's home region of Småland, while Lotta found her own creative path with her characteristic angel motifs.
The humorous, often tongue-in-cheek designs of Bengt & Lotta combine the Swedish folk art tradition with a modern design language. The products are crafted with great care in Sweden, often in small workshops that preserve traditional craftsmanship – using high-quality materials such as metal, wood and enamel. Some of the design objects are even exhibited in Swedish museums today.
At Nordlichttraum.de, our focus is clearly on Bengt & Lotta's versatile candle holders – complemented by a carefully curated selection of cutting boards, trays, wall hooks and paper napkin holders.
Candle Holders – the Heart of the Collection
Bengt & Lotta's candle holders are the Swedish designers' signature: from playful animal motifs such as moose, horses or squirrels to Lotta's delicate angels and abstract shapes. Crafted from solid iron or metal, they bring not only light into your home, but also plenty of character and Nordic storytelling – whether as table decor, Advent decoration or throughout the year.
Cutting Boards – Function Meets Illustration
Our selected cutting boards from Bengt & Lotta combine practical use with charming illustrations. They are a real eye-catcher when serving cheese, bread or small snacks and bring Swedish design directly to the dining table.
Trays – Serve in Style with a Fika Flair
The lovingly designed trays are perfect for coffee and cake in the Scandinavian Fika style. With their floral or animal motifs, they make a decorative statement – whether when serving or as a decorative element.
Wall Hooks – Practical and Decorative
Bengt & Lotta's wall hooks feature dogs, cats and other charming motifs, making them much more than purely functional objects – they enhance hallways, kitchens or children's rooms with a piece of Swedish design art.
Paper Napkin Holders – Table Decor for Every Occasion
The paper napkin holders add stylish accents to any set table with their characteristic motifs – a small but fine detail that makes the difference.
