The story began in 1953 when Christian Flensted assembled two straws and three paper storks into a mobile for his daughter Mette's christening. This personal gift led to the founding of Flensted Mobiles a year later – and with it, a new chapter in design: Before Christian and Grethe Flensted, mobiles were merely considered traditional crafts; they transformed them into timeless home accessories.

Christian Flensted was affectionately called "Uromageren" – a Danish play on words with "Uro," which means both "restless" and "mobile," thus aptly describing his creative, ever-moving spirit. This legacy continues to live on today: Christine, the third generation of the family, now leads the company, always with the same commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and joy through movement.
