Pine Cone – an entire scene made of black steel

Pine Cone is one of the large and particularly detailed candelabras from Bengt & Lotta. Birds are perched between branches and leaves, accompanied by pine cones, blossoms, and small heart shapes. A cohesive black silhouette is formed from many individual elements.

It is worth taking a closer look at this design. From a distance, Pine Cone appears as a unified graphic object; up close, you constantly discover individual figures and details.

Four candles on a width of 47 cm

The candelabra is designed for four candles. At 47 cm wide and 32 cm high, Pine Cone requires a certain amount of space and is particularly suitable for a larger dining table, sideboard, chest of drawers, or fireplace mantel.

With four lit candles, its effect changes significantly. The warm light contrasts with the black steel and creates additional light and shadow effects between the many cutout shapes.

4.3 kg – an exceptionally solid candelabra

Weight is an important product feature for Pine Cone: the candelabra weighs around 4.3 kg. This makes it significantly more solid than the delicately cutout silhouette might suggest in a product photo.

I find this information particularly important when purchasing online. While 32 × 47 cm describes the size, it says little about how substantial the candelabra actually is. The weight provides a much better impression of this.

Not just for Christmas

Pine cones, branches, and candlelight naturally fit perfectly into the autumn and winter season. Nevertheless, I would not consider Pine Cone exclusively as Christmas decoration.

Birds, leaves, and blossoms make the motif much more versatile. Even without candles, the candelabra remains a large graphic metal object and can therefore be used throughout the year.

My assessment

For me, Pine Cone belongs in a different category than the small Bengt & Lotta candelabras. With a width of 47 cm, four candles, and a weight of 4.3 kg, this is not a small home accessory, but a true furnishing object.

I find the mix of solid construction and visually light silhouette particularly successful. The material is heavy and solid, while at the same time the many cutouts, branches, and small motifs ensure that the candelabra does not appear bulky.

And I would not just take it out of the cupboard in December. Pine Cone is, of course, particularly atmospheric in autumn and winter – but in my opinion, the design is far too interesting to be reduced to Christmas.
