Riema was founded in the summer of 2018 near Hamburg by Claudia Ruks. The idea arose from a very personal need: In search of a beautiful, sustainable cozy blanket, the founder only found dusty designs and mass-produced goods – so she quickly started designing blankets herself, made from pure, natural materials and with great attention to detail.
Since then, the team around Claudia Ruks dedicates itself every day with passion, ingenuity, and attention to detail to the production of organic cotton blankets – with the clear goal of combining simple, modern designs and natural raw materials into durable favorite blankets.

What makes Riema special is its consistent sustainability: The wonderfully soft blankets are made in Germany from 100% organic cotton (kbA) or recycled cotton with an OEKO-TEX certificate and are completely free from harmful substances. Chemical brighteners and bleaches are completely avoided – a quality standard that is noticeably felt on the skin.
Regional production offers clear advantages: shorter transport routes, the security of knowing where the blanket comes from, and secure jobs in the German weaving mill – and, of course, environmental benefits through reduced transport, the use of organic cotton, and regional processing.
