Wally & Whiz – Danish wine gums with a story

Some sweets just taste like sugar. Wally & Whiz tastes like real fruit – and like a story that began in 2015 in a kitchen in Østerbro, Copenhagen. Founder Kristian Them Hansen was dissatisfied with what was being sold as wine gums in stores: too many additives, too little real flavor. So, he started experimenting himself – with blackcurrant juice, vegan starch, and citric acid from the supermarket – until his kitchen literally disappeared under piles of ingredients. This tenacity turned into one of the most well-known Danish confectionery brands, which can now be found in around 30 countries – and here in Northern Germany, a piece of it is now finding its way onto your gift table.

Craftsmanship instead of mass production

Every Wally & Whiz wine gum goes through a ten-day production process. Instead of animal-based gelatin, corn starch is used, and instead of artificial flavors, natural fruit and herbal notes. What makes them special: each piece combines two layers of flavor – one is cooked directly into the gum, and the second is applied as a coating of freeze-dried fruits, roots, or herbs. The result is a wine gum that truly unfolds as you chew. All products are 100% vegan and gluten-free – an indulgence that fits Scandinavian clarity: honest, unfussy, high-quality.
