Bengt & Lotta – Swedish Design Art with Character
Behind the brand Bengt & Lotta are the Swedish designer couple Bengt Lindberg and Lotta Glave, who met while studying graphic design and illustration together. For Bengt, it all began with a cow motif, which he transformed into a cast-iron candle holder – inspired by his childhood on his grandparents' farm in Skåne. Soon, other animal motifs such as sheep, horses, and moose followed, all produced in Bengt's home region of Småland, while Lotta found her own creative path with her characteristic angel motifs.
Bengt & Lotta's humorous, often tongue-in-cheek designs combine Swedish folk art tradition with modern design language. The products are crafted with great care in Sweden, often in small manufactories that preserve traditional craftsmanship – using high-quality materials such as metal, wood, and enamel. Some of the design objects are even exhibited in Swedish museums today.
