Lovebirds – two birds that belong together
With the Lovebirds candle holder, two birds sit facing each other, forming a nearly symmetrical black silhouette. Once again, Bengt & Lotta use only a few clear lines to make the motif immediately understandable.
The two birds can be interpreted quite naturally as a pair. This is exactly why Lovebirds is particularly well-suited as a gift for a wedding, an anniversary, or any other occasion where two people are the focus.
Three candles become part of the design
Lovebirds is designed for three candles. The candle holders are integrated into the graphic composition, so that the birds and the candles together form the candle holder.
At 37.5 cm in height and 32 cm in width, Lovebirds is significantly larger than many of the smaller Bengt & Lotta candle holders. It is therefore particularly suitable for a place where the design can make an impact – for example, on a sideboard, a dresser, or a larger table.
1.36 kg – delicate look, solid execution
The cut-out silhouettes make the candle holder appear visually light. In reality, Lovebirds weighs 1,360 g, making it an exceptionally solid metal object.
I find this information particularly important when buying online: a photo shows the shape and motif very well, but hardly conveys how a product actually feels. The weight provides a good additional impression of size and substance.
A graphic object, even without candles
The two birds are designed so concisely that Lovebirds works even without candles. In that case, the black silhouette stands in the room like a small metal object.
With candles lit, the effect changes: the warm light creates a beautiful contrast to the black steel and further emphasizes the symmetrical shape of the two birds.
My assessment
For me, Lovebirds is one of those Bengt & Lotta candle holders where the motif and the occasion fit together particularly well. Two birds facing each other need no extra explanation, and certainly no romantic quote.
With three candles, a height of 37.5 cm, and a weight of 1.36 kg, it is also no small accessory. Lovebirds has enough presence to act as an independent object in the room – and that is precisely why I find it interesting as a wedding or anniversary gift.
