Offer suet balls without a plastic net

Suet balls are a high-energy food source for garden birds, especially in the cold season. One can easily do without the frequently used plastic nets.

Wildlife Garden has developed this three-dimensional star made of powder-coated steel for this purpose. The suet ball is placed into the metal holder, and the star is then hung up using the included wire.

This not only looks much better than a plastic net, but it also offers birds a stable way to hold on while feeding.

Especially for smaller garden birds

Even with such a small product, Wildlife Garden has thought about functionality. The star's metal struts offer small birds like tits and finches suitable perching and holding opportunities.

At the same time, the narrow perches make it more difficult for larger birds to land on the feeder. This gives smaller garden birds a better chance of reaching the food in peace.

For garden and balcony

My assessment

The star is a good example that Wildlife Garden does not just think about aesthetics, even for a simple product. Hanging a suet ball is not a complicated task—yet one can still develop a functionally clean and durable solution for it.

I especially like the combination of the stable metal holder and the open star shape. The holder is small enough for balconies and patios, looks decorative in the garden, and can be used over and over again for many feeding seasons.

For me, it is a much nicer solution than hanging suet balls with plastic nets in a tree.
