A feeder for seeds – and a little more

The Wildlife Garden Multi-Purpose Seed Feeder is a compact feeder for your garden, terrace, or balcony. Its 1.2-liter insert was specifically developed for bird seeds.

Wildlife Garden particularly recommends sunflower seeds as a good standard feed for many finches and tits. The protected reservoir releases the feed into the lower section of the house for the birds.

Remove the seed insert – offer suet balls or apples

The name "Multi-Purpose" is meant quite literally. The seed insert can be removed. Afterwards, the feeder can also be used for suet balls or apples.

This means you are not limited to a single type of feed and can change the offerings depending on the season and the birds in your garden.

Two differently sized perches

The Multi-Purpose Feeder includes two perches in different sizes. They provide a place for the birds to land from which they can reach the feed.

It is precisely these small structural details that are typical of Wildlife Garden feeders: the design should look good, but the functionality for the birds remains the starting point.

Easy to fill

To refill, the roof is unscrewed. This makes the internal feed container easily accessible from above and allows for straightforward filling with seeds.

The removable insert also makes regular cleaning easier. Especially at frequently visited feeding stations, old or damp food should be removed and the feeder kept clean.

Simply hang it up without a post

Unlike the large feeding stations from Wildlife Garden, the Multi-Purpose Feeder does not require a post. A wire rope for hanging is already included in the delivery.

This allows the feeder to be attached to a suitable branch, hook, or another stable suspension point.

With a weight of 400 g and a base area of only 17.8 × 17.8 cm, the Multi-Purpose Feeder is also well-suited for smaller gardens and balconies.

Powder-coated steel

The housing is made of powder-coated steel, and the removable feed container is made of PC plastic. This combination makes the house sturdy while allowing for a practical, removable insert for bird food.

My assessment

I like the Multi-Purpose Feeder above all for its versatility. At 1.2 liters, it is significantly more compact than the large Wildlife Garden feeding stations and can be easily hung up without the need for additional post installation.

However, the real advantage for me is the removable insert. Pour in seeds, remove the insert and offer suet balls or an apple instead – this makes the little feeder more flexible than it might appear at first glance.

For a balcony, terrace, or a smaller garden, it is therefore an interesting alternative to a large, permanently mounted feeding station.
