6 liters of bird seed – refill less often

The name of this bird feeder is quite appropriate: the Giant Feeder is one of Wildlife Garden’s largest feeders and holds up to 6 liters of seeds or seed mixes.

The large volume is especially practical if many birds visit your garden regularly. Instead of refilling small amounts of food every day, a correspondingly large supply is available.

The food is protected inside the station and slides down toward the six feeding ports.

Six feeding spots for small garden birds

A narrow perch ring runs around the station. At the six feeding ports, several small garden birds can perch simultaneously and access the seeds.

Wildlife Garden deliberately designed the perch ring for smaller birds. Larger birds find it much harder to land on the narrow ring and reach the food.

This makes the Giant Feeder particularly attractive if you want to feed tits, finches, and other smaller garden birds.

The food stays in the container

A good bird feeder should not only hold plenty of food. It is also crucial what happens to it afterward.

With the Giant Feeder, the birds sit outside the actual food supply. This prevents them from contaminating the food with bird droppings.

The feeding ports are also designed in such a way that seeds are not easily scratched out and scattered on the ground. This reduces unnecessary food waste and keeps the area around the feeding spot cleaner.

Powder-coated steel and removable feed container

The outer tower is made of powder-coated steel. Inside, there is a transparent feed container made of recyclable PC plastic.

The transparent container has a very practical advantage: the fill level can be checked quickly without having to open the feeder.

The insert can be removed for cleaning. For a high-traffic feeding spot, this is an important point for me, as bird feeders should be cleaned regularly.

For mounting on a pole

The Giant Feeder is mounted on a suitable pole. A screw and washer for installation are included; the pole itself is not supplied.

A free-standing location has an additional appeal with this model: thanks to the six feeding ports arranged all around, you can observe the birds from various sides.

Black or white

The Giant Feeder is available in black and white at Nordlichttraum. Technically, both versions are identical – the choice is therefore a matter of personal taste and the environment in which the feeder is placed.

Black looks clean and understated, while the white version adds a brighter accent to the garden. You can find the currently available versions directly in the color selection.

My assessment

The Giant Feeder is particularly interesting to me when birds visit the feeding spot on a regular basis. A capacity of six liters is a different scale than a small feeder – it needs refilling much less often.

However, I especially like the design. The birds don't sit in the food, several small birds can eat at the same time, and the inner container can be removed for cleaning. These are practical details that one quickly learns to appreciate in daily use.

At 1.8 kg with a powder-coated steel tower, the Giant Feeder is also not a delicate decorative object. It is a large, solid bird feeder for anyone who wants to feed wild birds in their garden on a truly regular basis.
