Retro – the classic Moomin enamel series from Muurla

The Retro collection holds a special place within the Muurla Moomin world. It is the Finnish company's first and most traditional Moomin enamel series, showcasing the best-known characters from Tove Jansson's stories in a clear, colorful retro style.

Moomintroll is at the heart of this 0.6 l bowl – a beautiful combination of a classic Moomin motif and the material that made Muurla's Moomin collections famous.

0.6 liters – from breakfast to a light meal

I find this size particularly practical for everyday use: it is significantly more versatile than a small snack bowl, yet more compact than a large serving bowl.

It is suitable for all common stove types, including induction, and can even be used over an open fire. This means, for example, that you can prepare porridge directly in the bowl and then eat it from there.

My assessment

I consider the 0.6 l bowls to be among the most practical Muurla enamel products. The size works just as well in the morning for muesli as it does for soup, snacks, or a small meal.

What I find particularly interesting is that the bowl can actually be used on the stove. Preparing porridge directly in the bowl, taking it off the stove, and having breakfast from it – enamel is perfectly suited for such uncomplicated applications.

And for me, the retro version with Moomintroll is a true Muurla classic. Here, the most famous character from Moominvalley, Muurla's most traditional Moomin series, and the material that defined the brand's Moomin collections come together perfectly.
