With "In the Garden," Muurla tells the story of warm, relaxed summer days out in the garden and in the meadows – without any rush and without a care in the world.

The large 10-liter bucket fits this concept perfectly. It is not purely a decorative object, but a functional product for the garden, home, and leisure.

10 liters – a bucket that can actually be used

With a 10-liter capacity, 28 cm diameter, and 26 cm height, the Muurla bucket is a practical size for many different tasks.

In the garden, it can be used for collecting apples, berries, nuts, or other fruits. The carry bucket is also practical for picking mushrooms or for minor gardening tasks.

And, of course, it doesn't have to stay in the garden. The bucket can also be used in many ways for storage inside the house.

From planter to beverage cooler

Muurla deliberately designed the In the Garden bucket for various uses. For instance, it can be used as a decorative planter or for storage.

A particularly lovely idea for summer, garden parties, or the patio is using it as a beverage cooler. Filled with ice, the 10-liter bucket offers plenty of space to keep bottles or cans chilled.

Galvanized steel instead of enamel

Unlike the well-known Muurla mugs, bowls, and cookware, this bucket is not made of enameled carbon steel. Muurla uses galvanized steel for the 10-liter bucket.

The material is suited to its intended use as a robust garden and household bucket, demonstrating that Muurla selects different materials depending on the product's function.

For indoors and outdoors

According to Muurla, the In the Garden bucket is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. This means it can be used in the garden, on the patio, or on the balcony just as well as inside the house.

My assessment

I find the 10-liter bucket particularly appealing within the Muurla Moomin collection because it doesn't pretend to be anything else: it is a proper bucket that you can actually use in the garden – just with a very beautiful Moomin motif.

At 10 liters, it is large enough to be truly practical when gathering fruit, berries, nuts, or mushrooms. At the same time, it looks good enough to leave out on display as a planter or for storage.

And in the summer, I particularly like the idea of using it as a beverage cooler: add ice, add drinks, and the Moomin bucket can go straight out to the patio or into the garden.

With "In the Garden," the motif and function match perfectly – a Moomin product that is genuinely intended for life outdoors.
