Comet 2026 – the Moomins before the great adventure

With the Comet collection, Muurla picks up on one of the most famous stories from the world of the Moomins: Comet in Moominland. A comet approaches Moominvalley, causing quite a stir. Moomintroll and his friends set off to find out more about the impending danger.

The new Muurla mug features scenes from this story on a large 0.55 l enamel cup. The brown color scheme gives the motif a particularly warm, autumn/winter character.

The Comet mug is part of the Muurla 2026 Christmas collection and is offered as a limited edition. This makes it not only a practical Moomin mug but also an interesting novelty for fans who regularly expand their Moomin collection with current Muurla designs.

My assessment

For me, the Comet mug is a particularly beautiful Muurla novelty for the autumn and winter of 2026. The motif has a unique character due to the "Comet in Moominland" story and clearly stands out from classic Moomin designs.

I also find the 0.55-liter size very well-chosen for this mug. It is large enough for a really big coffee or tea, yet remains pleasantly light thanks to the enamel.

And because it is a limited edition from the 2026 Christmas collection, it also makes a lovely gift for Moomin fans who aren't always looking for the familiar classics but enjoy discovering new Muurla motifs.
