Little My and the flowery meadow

Little My is sitting in a flowery meadow, looking up at the sky. The situation could actually be quite worrying: a comet is approaching Moominvalley. However, Little My is hardly impressed by this at all.

This fits her character perfectly. Little My is brave, self-confident, and independent—and things that others might be afraid of, she often finds interesting rather than frightening.

The "Little My and Meadow" motif is based on Tove and Lars Jansson's comic "Moomin and the Comet" from 1958. The illustration was adapted for Moomin by Arabia by Tove Slotte.

A motif with plenty of Little My

Those who know Little My will immediately recognize her unique way of being on this mug. While there is a certain restlessness all around, she sits completely relaxed in nature. This makes the motif both humorous and typical of the character.

The combination of green, cream white, and the colorful illustrations looks friendly and vibrant. The flowery meadow gives the motif a summery lightness, while the story behind it holds an exciting adventure for the young Moomin fan.

My assessment

I especially like this motif because it shows Little My exactly as she is: self-confident, headstrong, and quite unimpressed by what is happening around her.

Especially in contrast to many of the rather cute Moomin motifs, this mug has its own character. The flowery meadow and friendly colors make it seem very playful at first glance—but the story with the comet then gives the motif a second layer.

For me, "Little My and Meadow" is therefore a very beautiful mug for all those who are particularly fond of Little My or who appreciate the Moomin stories not only for their lovable characters but also for their subtle humor.
