Loving Care – Moominmamma takes care

For the Moomins, caring is simply part of family life. The "Loving Care" motif shows exactly this side of the Moomin world: Moominmamma takes care of shipwrecked pirates and shows that strangers are also welcome in her world.

The illustration is inspired by the comic "Moomin on the Riviera". Snorkmaiden can also be seen in the motif – together with a little cat. It is one of those typically warm-hearted scenes from the Moomin world, where the focus is not on a big adventure, but on how we treat one another.

The combination of green, pink and the warm cream tone gives the mug a friendly yet calm character.

A Moomin mug about helpfulness and care

Moominmamma is one of the characters who embodies the special nature of the Moomin world particularly well. She remains calm when things get a bit turbulent around her, and naturally looks after others.

That is precisely why I like the motif: it tells a story of helpfulness, comfort, and the idea that everyone can find a place, without many words. This also makes the mug a lovely gift for people who value these qualities.

The classic Arabia shape

The Loving Care mug features the classic, clean shape of the Moomin by Arabia mugs. The simple design gives the motif plenty of space and at the same time makes the mug a timeless piece for everyday use.

For me, this combination is particularly successful: the illustrations tell stories from the Moomin world, while the shape itself remains pleasantly understated and functional.

Vitro porcelain – robust for everyday life

The mug is made of vitro porcelain. The material is designed for daily use and fits perfectly with the functional Arabia shape.

The mug is dishwasher safe and suitable for use in the oven, microwave, and freezer. This makes it not just a beautiful piece for Moomin fans, but a mug that can be used every day as a matter of course.

With a capacity of 0.3 liters, it is a comfortable size for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

My assessment

"Loving Care" is, in my opinion, a particularly endearing Moomin motif. It shows beautifully what the Moomins are often actually about: not perfection, but togetherness.

Moominmamma looking after the stranded pirates fits perfectly into this story. The scene is friendly and warm without appearing kitschy. I also really like the color scheme – green, pink, and cream make for a harmonious combination that looks pleasantly calm on the table.

A mug for Moomin fans who, in addition to the characters, also appreciate the little stories and human values behind the illustrations.
