Haru – Tove Jansson's island world
The Haru collection is a tribute to Tove Jansson and her life. The design was inspired by the rocky island of Klovharun in the Finnish archipelago, where Tove spent her summers. She called the island Haru.
The island's shapes, its nature, and the unique atmosphere of the place are reflected in the calm design of the collection. The cream white and blue are complemented by a subtle Japanese influence. "Haru" means spring in Japanese.
The floral illustrations are particularly beautiful: they are inspired by wreaths that Tove Jansson designed herself, reflecting the plant life of the island.
0.26 litres – the classic size for coffee and tea
With a capacity of 0.26 litres, the Haru mug is a classic size for coffee, tea, hot chocolate and other hot drinks. It is therefore suitable for both the breakfast table and a quick coffee break.
The restrained colour scheme also makes it very easy to combine with other tableware. It does not necessarily have to be part of a complete Haru set, but also works as a special individual mug.
Haru – Moomin in a whole new way
Anyone familiar with Moomin by Arabia primarily for its well-known colourful character motifs will experience a different side of the collection with Haru. The focus here is not on individual characters or a specific comic scene, but on Tove Jansson's connection to nature, the island world and design.
This gives the mug a calm and mature feel without losing its connection to the Moomin world. This is exactly what makes Haru for me
