Gift of Love – Moomintroll and the Golden Tail

The illustrations in the Gift of Love collection are primarily based on Tove Jansson's 1958 comic strip "Moomin and the Golden Tail." In it, Moomintroll suddenly develops a shiny golden tail tuft—bringing him attention, admirers, and invitations to elegant parties.

Other scenes are taken from the comics "Moomin's Winter Follies" and "Moomin Begins a New Life." The collection's message is quintessential Moominvalley: you don't need a special occasion to celebrate—time spent with family and friends is reason enough.

Dark green exterior, light interior

The Gift of Love bowl is finished in a deep Christmas green on the outside. Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden celebrate amid stars, cakes, and gifts—Mymble and Little My can also be spotted in the product images.

The inside of the bowl is light-colored. This ensures the contents remain clearly visible and the festive illustrations on the outside truly stand out.

Ø 15 cm – the proven Moomin bowl size

With a diameter of about 15 cm, the bowl features the classic Moomin by Arabia size. It is perfect for morning muesli, a portion of porridge, a dessert, or as a small serving bowl for nuts, cookies, and side dishes.

Made of vitro porcelain, it is dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe.

Gift of Love – the festive finale of the 2026 Year of Love

In 2026, Moomin Arabia celebrates the 30th anniversary of the iconic Moomin Love mug and is dedicating an entire year to the theme of love. Alongside Sweethearts and Loving Care, Gift of Love serves as the festive conclusion to this anniversary year.

A special feature: in 2026, Gift of Love replaces the traditional winter seasonal collection. The color palette of dark green, mustard yellow, and beige with subtle red accents fits the Christmas season perfectly, yet remains versatile enough for use all year round.

Care instructions

The bowl is dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe.

My assessment

I find the dark green exterior of the Gift of Love bowl particularly successful. Most Moomin bowls are light-colored on the outside—this one stands out immediately on the shelf and the dining table.

At the same time, it is just as practical as any other Moomin bowl. I wouldn't just see it as a Christmas item; I would intentionally use it in everyday life as well.

Paired with the matching Gift of Love mug, it makes a beautiful breakfast set—and a gift that Moomin fans are sure to enjoy.
