Gift of Love – Moomintroll and the Golden Tail

The illustrations in the Gift of Love collection are primarily based on Tove Jansson's 1958 comic strip "Moomin and the Golden Tail." In it, Moomintroll suddenly grows a golden, shimmering tail tuft—and with it, he gains attention, admirers, and invitations to fancy parties.

Other scenes are taken from the comics "Moomin's Winter Follies" and "Moomin Begins a New Life." The message of the collection is typical of Moominvalley: you don't need a special occasion to celebrate—time spent together with family and friends is reason enough.

2.5 l – a proper family-sized oven dish

With a capacity of 2.5 l, the Gift of Love oven dish is large enough for a casserole, lasagna, or gratin for the whole family. A smaller sheet cake or a crumble for dessert also fit perfectly.

The side handles make it easy to remove from the oven and carry to the table. Moomin Arabia suggests using it to bake a cake for any occasion—keeping with the spirit of the collection.

From the oven directly to the table

Little My is depicted in the center of the dish, framed by a green and yellow floral border. The motif is positioned so that it looks beautiful on the table—the oven dish can therefore be served directly without transferring the food.

It is made of vitro porcelain. It is oven-safe, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, and can also be used for prepared meals in the freezer.

Gift of Love – the festive finale of the Love Year 2026

In 2026, Moomin Arabia celebrates the 30th anniversary of the famous Moomin Love mug and is dedicating an entire year to the theme of love. Alongside Sweethearts and Loving Care, Gift of Love forms the festive conclusion to this anniversary year.

A special feature: In 2026, Gift of Love replaces the traditional winter seasonal collection. The color palette of dark green, mustard yellow, and beige with small red accents fits wonderfully with the Christmas season, but doesn't look too seasonal beyond that.

Care instructions

The oven dish is dishwasher safe as well as oven, microwave, and freezer safe.

Tip: As with all ceramic dishes, avoid extreme temperature changes—do not place the dish directly from the freezer into a hot oven.

My assessment

For me, an oven dish is the Moomin product that best accompanies shared time at the table. This isn't about a mug for one person, but a meal for everyone—and that fits perfectly with the idea of Gift of Love.

I especially like that Little My plays the leading role here. A cheeky accent in the middle of a festive table.

Anyone who enjoys cooking for family and friends during Christmas or winter will find a piece here that looks great both in the oven and on the table.
