Gift of Love – Moomintroll and the Golden Tail

The illustrations in the Gift of Love collection are primarily based on Tove Jansson's 1958 comic "Moomin and the Golden Tail." In it, Moomintroll suddenly grows a shiny golden tail tuft—and with it comes attention, admirers, and invitations to elegant parties.

Other scenes are taken from the comics "Moomin's Winter Follies" and "Moomin Begins a New Life." The message of the collection is typical for Moominvalley: you don't need a special occasion to celebrate—time spent with family and friends is reason enough.

A jar for the little joys

Moomin Arabia describes the jar quite simply: one should enjoy the moment—and treat oneself to a sweet from the jar. That is exactly what it is made for.

On the light-colored porcelain, Moomintroll and Little My can be seen in green and yellow, surrounded by fruits, stars, and ribbons, as if at a celebration. The dark green lid picks up the main color of the collection.

0.7 l – Space for cookies and more

With a 0.7 l capacity, the jar is large enough for a decent portion of Christmas cookies, chocolates, or nuts. It is just as well-suited for storing tea, coffee, or small kitchen staples.

The jar itself is made of vitro porcelain, and the lid includes silicone. The jar is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe—the lid is excluded from this and should be cleaned by hand.

Gift of Love – the festive finale of the 2026 Year of Love

In 2026, Moomin Arabia celebrates the 30th anniversary of the well-known Moomin Love mug and dedicates an entire year to the theme of love. Alongside Sweethearts and Loving Care, Gift of Love forms the festive conclusion to this anniversary year.

A special feature: In 2026, Gift of Love replaces the traditional winter seasonal collection. The color palette of dark green, mustard yellow, and beige with small red accents fits wonderfully with the Christmas season, but does not feel too seasonal beyond that.

Care instructions

The jar is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe.

Important: According to Moomin Arabia, this does not apply to the lid. Therefore, please clean the lid by hand and do not place it in the microwave or oven.

My assessment

For me, a Moomin jar is one of the most beautiful pieces in a collection because it doesn't disappear into the cupboard. It stands on the countertop, on the coffee table, or on a shelf and can be seen every day.

Especially during the Advent season, when cookies are being baked anyway, the Gift of Love jar fits perfectly. And when filled with cookies, it also makes a wonderful gift.
