Lapuan Kankurit Arvo Hot Water Bottle with Wool Cover
Arvo – Warmth with Finnish wool
For me, the most interesting aspect of Arvo is the story of its materials: Lapuan Kankurit collects Finnish sheep's wool from local farms and processes it for the wool cover. This gives the hot water bottle a very direct connection to the Finnish origins of the weaving mill.
- Capacity: 2 liters
- Cover: 100% virgin wool
- Inner bottle: high-quality Fashy hot water bottle from Germany
- Removable cover
- Care for wool cover: hand wash up to 30 °C
Lapuan Kankurit – Weavers from Finland
The textile family history of Lapuan Kankurit dates back to 1917. The weaving mill under the name Lapuan Kankurit was founded in 1973. Today, the fifth generation is already working in the family business. Their own weaving mill in Lapua combines traditional knowledge of jacquard weaving with modern production and an exceptionally transparent material supply chain.
For their linen products, Lapuan Kankurit relies on traceable European long-staple linen. Many items carry the Masters of Linen certification. For this reason, I consider Lapuan Kankurit one of those weaving mills where you can appreciate the quality not just in the design, but above all in the material and craftsmanship.
Why linen is special at Lapuan Kankurit
Linen can absorb a lot of moisture while drying quickly at the same time. This exact combination makes it so attractive for sauna, bath, and kitchen textiles. The European long-staple linen used is traceable; for appropriately labeled products, Masters of Linen confirms the European origin and processing of the flax.
My assessment
I find the hot water bottles to be among the most special gift items from Lapuan Kankurit: a high-quality woven wool cover on the outside, a quality hot water bottle from Fashy in Germany on the inside. This is a combination where function and textile expertise truly come together. I find the connection to Finnish sheep's wool particularly interesting with this model.
