Harald – classic Scandinavian design

Harald is one of those Klippan wool blankets that doesn't rely on an eye-catching motif. Instead, the blanket features a calm, timeless pattern and a wide selection of colors.

This makes Harald extremely versatile. The blanket integrates easily into many different interiors and feels neither trendy nor bound to a specific season.

100% organic lambswool

For Harald, Klippan specifically uses 100% organic lambswool. This distinguishes the blanket from other Klippan models where only "lambswool" is specified as the material.

Klippan states that the lambswool used is free from pesticides and that no chemicals or antibiotics are used in the rearing of the lambs.

The natural wool fiber possesses excellent heat- and temperature-regulating properties. At the same time, wool can absorb moisture without immediately feeling damp.

130 x 200 cm – pleasantly generous

At 130 x 200 cm, Harald is one of the more generous Klippan wool blankets. I find the two-meter length particularly pleasant for the sofa and armchair, as you can comfortably cover yourself completely.

When Harald is not in use, the blanket also serves as a decorative home textile for sofas, armchairs, or beds.

From yellow to lead grey

Harald is offered by Klippan in several very different colors. Yellow and rust provide warm accents, pink appears softer, light green brings a natural tone into the living room, while lead grey and cream are particularly easy to combine.

The pattern deliberately remains in the background. As a result, the color primarily determines the character Harald brings to a room.

Wool with traceable origin

For Harald, Klippan uses New Zealand lambswool from farmers licensed under Wool Integrity NZ™.

The program sets requirements for animal welfare and the responsible treatment of sheep. Klippan explicitly confirms that the wool used comes from sheep that are not subjected to mulesing.

In addition, Harald is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and tested for a multitude of regulated substances and those relevant to health.

Klippan Yllefabrik – experience with wool since 1879

Klippan Yllefabrik is a Swedish family-owned company with a history dating back to 1879. Its headquarters remain in the town of Klippan in southern Sweden to this day.

Over generations, the company evolved from initial wool processing into a manufacturer now best known for its wool blankets and home textiles.

In-house production in Latvia

The wool textiles are manufactured at the subsidiary Klippan Saule in Latvia, where Klippan operates its own modern textile production facility.

Within its own corporate group, Klippan handles essential production steps itself: the company purchases the natural fibers, then spins, dyes, shears, weaves, and brushes the wool.

For such a classic blanket as Harald, this is an important point for me. There is no major "motif story" to distract from the product itself—what counts is the wool quality and the workmanship.

Care – 30°C on the wool cycle

A wool blanket made of pure lambswool does not need to be washed often. In everyday life, regular airing and gentle shaking out are often completely sufficient.

When a wash becomes necessary, Klippan currently specifies a machine wash at 30°C on the wool cycle for Harald. The blanket should be washed separately and not tumble-dried. Bleaching agents are not suitable.

My assessment

For me, Harald is a classic Klippan wool blanket for customers who are not looking for a bold designer motif or a special wool blend.

The special appeal lies in the combination of 100% organic lambswool, a generous 130 x 200 cm size, and a timeless pattern that you are unlikely to tire of quickly.

For me, it is precisely these kinds of blankets that show the true strength of Klippan. The company doesn't need to sell every wool blanket with a spectacular design. When the material, weaving, and color are right, sometimes that is all it takes.
