Domino – a Klippan classic

Domino is one of those wool throws for which Klippan consciously opts for a timeless pattern. The regularly arranged geometric shapes give the throw structure without tying the design to a specific interior trend.

That is exactly where the appeal of Domino lies for me. A good wool throw can be used for many years – and a quiet graphic pattern usually remains relevant much longer than a short-lived trend.

100% lambswool

Klippan makes Domino from 100% lambswool. The natural wool fibre provides warmth while also possessing temperature- and moisture-regulating properties.

This is what clearly distinguishes a genuine wool throw from many synthetic comfort blankets. Wool keeps you comfortably warm without simply trapping as much heat as possible underneath the blanket.

130 x 180 cm – the classic size for the sofa

At 130 x 180 cm, Domino is a very practical size for sofas and armchairs. The throw is large enough to curl up in comfortably on a chilly evening, yet remains pleasantly manageable.

When it is not being used, Domino can simply be draped over the back of a sofa or armchair. The graphic pattern makes the wool throw a beautiful home textile at the same time.

Additionally, Domino is certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and has therefore been tested for a multitude of regulated and health-relevant harmful substances.

Klippan Yllefabrik – experience with wool since 1879

Klippan Yllefabrik is a Swedish family business with a history dating back to 1879. Its headquarters remain in the town of the same name, Klippan, in southern Sweden.

Over generations, the original wool processing business evolved into a manufacturer that is now particularly well-known for its wool throws and home textiles.

In-house production in Latvia

Manufacturing now takes place at the subsidiary Klippan Saule in Latvia. There, Klippan possesses its own modern machinery and controls essential production steps itself.

Klippan purchases the natural fibres and handles spinning, dyeing, warping, weaving, and the final finishing of the wool surfaces within its own production facility.

To me, this is a key point regarding Klippan: the company does not just design wool throws; it also possesses the knowledge and technology to process the wool itself.

Care – 30°C on the wool cycle

Wool needs to be washed much less frequently than many other textiles. Often, regular airing and careful shaking are enough to freshen up the throw.

When washing is necessary, Klippan currently recommends machine washing Domino at 30°C on the wool cycle. The throw should be washed separately and not tumble dried. Bleaching agents should also be avoided.

My assessment

For me, Domino is a very typical Klippan wool throw: good material, an uncomplicated graphic pattern, and colours that you will still enjoy seeing in your living room even after several years.

It needs neither a famous designer name nor a great story. Its true value lies in the 100% lambswool and in the experience of a manufacturer that has mastered the processing of the material itself.
