Chevron – classic zigzag pattern made of lamb’s wool

Chevron is one of the classic geometric patterns and works particularly well on a wool cushion. The regular zigzag pattern adds structure to a sofa or armchair without being overbearing.

Klippan makes this cushion cover from 100% lamb’s wool. This makes Chevron not just a decorative cushion, but also brings the typical warm and natural feel of a genuine wool surface into the living room.

100% lamb’s wool

The Chevron cushion cover is made entirely of lamb’s wool. Lamb’s wool is finer and softer than many coarser wool qualities, making it particularly well-suited for home textiles that come into direct contact with the skin.

Wool also possesses natural temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties. While the warming effect is not the main focus for a cushion as it would be for a wool blanket, the natural feel of the fiber is clearly noticeable.

45 x 45 cm – the classic sofa cushion

At 45 x 45 cm, Chevron features a classic square cushion format. This makes the cover easy to use on a sofa, armchair, or bed and combine with existing cushions.

Klippan offers Chevron in grey, nude, and caramel. The subtle shades emphasize the graphic pattern and combine well with natural materials and various interior styles.

Matches the Chevron wool blanket

The cushion cover is particularly beautiful when combined with the Chevron wool blanket from Klippan. The same characteristic zigzag pattern echoes the design of the blanket and ensures a harmonious overall appearance.

Of course, this does not have to be a complete set. A single wool cushion can provide a nice graphic accent among plain-colored cushions.

Wool with a traceable origin

For the Chevron cushion cover, Klippan uses New Zealand wool from farmers licensed by Wool Integrity NZ™.

According to Klippan, the wool comes from sheep that are not subjected to mulesing. Furthermore, Wool Integrity NZ™ sets requirements for animal welfare and the responsible management of nature and the environment.

The Chevron cushion cover is also OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and tested for harmful substances.

Klippan Yllefabrik – experience with wool since 1879

Klippan Yllefabrik was founded in 1879 in the town of the same name in southern Sweden. For generations, the family business has focused on wool and textile processing.

Today, production takes place at their own subsidiary, Klippan Saule, in Latvia. There, Klippan controls essential steps of the wool processing within their own corporate group.

Care – 30 °C on the wool cycle

Frequent washing is generally not necessary for a wool cushion cover. Regular airing is often enough for daily maintenance.

When washing becomes necessary, Klippan recommends machine washing Chevron at 30 °C exclusively on the wool cycle. The cushion cover should be washed separately and not tumble dried. Bleach is not suitable.

My assessment

To me, Chevron is a very uncomplicated way to bring wool as a material into the living room. The classic zigzag pattern is graphic enough to make a statement, but calm enough not to become intrusive after a short time.

I find the cushion cover particularly useful, of course, if a Chevron wool blanket is already owned. You can combine both, but you don't have to deck out the entire sofa in the same pattern.

100% lamb’s wool, a classic 45 x 45 cm format, and three subtle colors – that is really all a good wool cushion needs.
