Chevron – a pattern that has become a classic

The chevron or zigzag pattern is one of those designs that never really goes out of style. Klippan applies these regular lines to a classic wool blanket, creating a pattern that has a graphic feel without being overbearing.

Klippan itself describes Chevron as a classic – and that is exactly how I would classify the blanket. It works just as well in a modern Scandinavian interior as it does in a more traditional home.

100% organic lambswool

For the Chevron, Klippan explicitly uses 100% organic lambswool. This distinguishes the blanket from some of the manufacturer's other models, which list only "lambswool" as the material.

Klippan states that the lambswool used is free from pesticides and that no chemicals or antibiotics are used in the raising of the lambs.

The natural wool fiber provides warmth while offering temperature- and moisture-regulating properties. This creates a comfortably balanced climate under a wool blanket.

130 x 200 cm – generously sized for snuggling

At 130 x 200 cm, Chevron is one of the longer Klippan wool blankets. I find the extra 20 cm compared to the 130 x 180 cm models particularly pleasant, especially when on a sofa or armchair.

The blanket can be easily pulled over your legs and up to your shoulders, and it also works beautifully as a visible home textile on a sofa, armchair, or bed.

Ruby Red – bold color, calm pattern

At Nordlichttraum, we carry Chevron in Ruby Red. The bold color gives the blanket plenty of warmth, while the consistent zigzag pattern ensures a calm, graphic structure.

This is what I particularly like about Chevron: the blanket can provide a distinct color accent without looking cluttered due to a complicated motif.

Wool with traceable origins

The lambswool used for Chevron comes from New Zealand, from farmers licensed under Wool Integrity NZ™.

This program sets requirements for animal welfare and the responsible treatment of the sheep. Klippan expressly confirms that the animals are not subjected to mulesing.

Additionally, the Chevron wool blanket is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and tested for a variety of regulated and health-relevant harmful substances.

Klippan Yllefabrik – experience with wool since 1879

Klippan Yllefabrik is a Swedish family company whose history dates back to 1879. Its headquarters are still located in the town of Klippan in southern Sweden today.

Over generations, the original wool processing business evolved into a manufacturer that is now particularly well-known for its wool blankets and home textiles.

In-house production in Latvia

Today, the wool textiles are manufactured by the subsidiary Klippan Saule in Latvia. There, Klippan operates its own modern machinery and controls the essential production steps itself.

From handling the yarn, to dyeing and weaving, to the final finishing of the wool surface, the textile production remains within the Klippan group of companies.

Especially with a classic blanket like Chevron, I find this important: the product relies less on a grand design story than on the material, the weaving, and the experience in wool processing.

Care – now washable at 30°C

Wool does not need to be washed unnecessarily often. Frequently, regular airing and gentle shaking are enough to freshen up a wool blanket.

When washing becomes necessary, Klippan currently specifies machine washing at 30°C on a wool cycle for the Chevron. The blanket should be washed separately and not tumble dried. Bleach is not suitable.

My assessment

For me, Chevron is one of the classic Klippan blankets. It doesn't need an eye-catching motif or a famous designer name to work. The zigzag pattern is timeless, and the ruby red color still brings character into the living room.

The material quality of this model is particularly interesting. Klippan explicitly uses organic lambswool here and now documents the origin of the New Zealand wool much more precisely than before.

At 130 x 200 cm, Chevron is also a truly generous wool blanket. If you are looking for a classic Klippan blanket made of pure lambswool and you like bold colors, this is exactly what you get – without a trendy motif that you might get tired of after a few years.
