Model B – just slip them on
Model B is the uncomplicated Glerups slipper. Unlike the closed Model A, the heel is open. This allows you to slip into them quickly without needing to pull them on with your hands.
The front part of the foot is completely enclosed by the soft wool. This is how Model B combines the warm, natural feel of a Glerups with the convenience of a classic slipper.
100% natural wool – perfect for barefoot wear
The upper material consists of 100% pure, natural wool. Wool can absorb moisture and therefore supports a pleasantly balanced foot climate. At the same time, it possesses excellent insulating properties.
For this reason, Glerups are exceptionally comfortable when worn directly against the skin. Especially with a slipper that you slip into in the morning or throughout the day, I consider this a key part of the comfort.
Flexible natural rubber sole for indoors and outdoors
The Honey sole is made of flexible natural rubber. Its tread provides better grip on various surfaces and significantly expands the range of use for the slipper.
This means Model B doesn't have to be left at the front door. The terrace, garden, campsite, vacation home, a quick errand, or a trip to the mailbox – the natural rubber sole is extremely practical for such situations.
The slip-on design also shows its strengths while driving or traveling. Of course, Model B is not a technical hiking shoe or a waterproof outdoor shoe.
Plenty of freedom for the foot
Glerups avoids rigid shoe construction. The felted wool and the flexible natural rubber sole adapt to the foot and allow for plenty of freedom of movement.
The walking sensation is therefore quite different from a sturdy street shoe. Anyone who enjoys walking barefoot and wants to maintain as much flexibility as possible in a shoe will find an interesting combination of protection, warmth, and a natural feeling here.
Care – air them out instead of constant washing
Wool requires surprisingly little care. As a rule, it is sufficient to air the slippers out regularly.
Light dirt can be carefully treated with a damp cloth and a detergent suitable for wool. The natural rubber sole can also be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Afterward, allow the shoes to dry completely at room temperature.
My assessment
Model B with a natural rubber sole is probably the most uncomplicated Glerups: slip them on and get going.
The open heel makes it particularly practical if a shoe is constantly being taken on and off. At the same time, the natural rubber sole extends its use well beyond that of a normal house slipper. Garden, terrace, camping, short errands, or travel – this model is made for it.
However, anyone who prefers their heel to be completely enclosed by wool should choose Model A. If you mainly want to slip in and out quickly, you are better served with Model B.
