Moomintroll & Snorkmaiden – In Love

Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden simply belong together. Dsignhouse has translated the famous pair from Tove Jansson's Moomin world into a joint wooden figure.

The two stand close together, forming a single little scene. As a result, even without color or additional decoration, the figure immediately conveys the special relationship between Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden.

Made of solid oak

The figure is made of FSC-certified oak. Instead of depicting the well-known Moomin characters in color, Dsignhouse focuses on their characteristic shapes and the natural effect of the wood.

The grain of the oak remains visible, making every figure slightly different. Small differences in color and wood structure are therefore not defects, but part of a natural wood product.

My assessment

Of all the Moomin wooden figures from Dsignhouse, Moomintroll & Snorkmaiden in Love is by far our most popular motif. That doesn't surprise me much: the two figures belong together, and it works very well as a joint wooden sculpture.

The material also suits me perfectly. The natural oak takes away some of the typical comic character of the Moomins and turns it into an surprisingly sophisticated home accessory.

The price is certainly not low. But in return, you don't get a small plastic figure, but a handcrafted Moomin figure made of FSC-certified oak. For anyone who loves Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden and is looking for a special collector's item, this is a very beautiful interpretation of the two.
