A comet approaches Moominvalley, causing quite a stir. Moomintroll and his friends set off to find out more about the impending danger.

The new Muurla mug features scenes from this story on a large 0.55 l enamel cup. The brown color scheme gives the motif a particularly warm, autumn/winter character.

2026 Christmas collection

The Comet mug is part of the Muurla 2026 Christmas collection and is offered as a limited edition. This makes it not only a practical Moomin mug but also an interesting novelty for fans who regularly expand their Moomin collection with current Muurla designs.

The Comet motif is particularly well-suited for the darker time of the year: the story, the warm brown tones, and the wintery atmosphere make the mug a lovely companion for cozy autumn and winter days.

0.55 liters – plenty of space for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate

With a capacity of 0.55 liters, this mug is one of the larger Muurla enamel cups. It offers plenty of space for a large coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, making it just right for a long, cozy evening.

Thanks to the robust enamel, the mug is also suitable for use on the go. When camping, by a campfire, or at a picnic, the light weight of only about 197 grams is a real advantage compared to a comparable ceramic mug.

Enamel – light and durable

The mug is made of carbon steel coated with enamel. This material combination makes it light and durable and has been tried and tested for generations, especially for camping and outdoor tableware.

As a result, the Comet mug is not limited to the breakfast table. It can just as easily be used outdoors while camping or in the garden.

Not just for drinking

The large mug can also be used for storage or for heating smaller portions. This is particularly practical when camping, for example, if you want to heat up soup or another warm meal.

After use, the mug can be put in the dishwasher. Important: Enamelware is not microwave safe.

My assessment

For me, the Comet mug is a particularly beautiful Muurla novelty for the autumn and winter of 2026. The motif has a unique character due to the "Comet in Moominland" story and clearly stands out from classic Moomin designs.

I also find the 0.55-liter size very well-chosen for this mug. It is large enough for a really big coffee or tea, yet remains pleasantly light thanks to the enamel.

And because it is a limited edition from the 2026 Christmas collection, it also makes a lovely gift for Moomin fans who aren't always looking for the familiar classics but enjoy discovering new Muurla motifs.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0941/0782/8552/files/muurla-mumins-comet.2026-becher-0-37-l-emaille-braun.jpg?v=1787072182
